Multi-omics analysis of the hair follicle stem cell formation process
The mechanisms that maintain the homeostasis of adult hair follicles, centered on hair follicle stem cells, are thought to be established during embryonic development and subsequently maintained in adulthood. However, the precise processes underlying this transition remain incompletely understood. To address this, we employ comprehensive multi-omics analyses to investigate the formation and maturation of hair follicles and hair follicle stem cells from the embryonic stage through postnatal development. Furthermore, by exploring the molecular and functional differences between fetal and adult hair follicle stem cells, we aim to elucidate the transition from fetal to adult stem cell states. In this seminar, we will discuss our research findings to date and future perspectives.
