Alpha oscillations as a clock for visual processing
We have been trying to reveal the neural causes of human visual perception and behavior. Among these techniques, transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is a promising tool to manipulate neural oscillations such as alpha or beta oscillations. In this seminar, I will introduce a study in which we developed a technique to decrease or increase the alpha frequency by tACS, and found that alpha oscillations determine the timing of visual processing.
