CryoEM technology for accelerating the development of SARS-CoV-2 therapeutic antibodies
Since the end of 2019, the pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has significantly affected public health and economic activity. Although the development and widespread use of mRNA vaccines have progressed, the situation that new mutant strains are appearing one after another highlights the importance of the rapid development of therapeutic methods targeting a wider range of mutant strains. In this seminar, I will introduce two examples of new antibody development against SARS-CoV-2 and share the points such as how structural biology, especially electron cryomicroscopy and peripheral technologies, contributes to them, what kind of information is required, and how to get it quickly.
