Role of H3K9 methylation dynamics for mammalian reproduction

H3K9 methylation is a representative epigenetic mark of transcriptonally suppressed chromatin. The reproductive function of mammals is ensured by the proper differentiation of germ cells and somatic cells. We found that methylated H3K9 fluctuates dynamically in germ cells and somatic cells at the specific stages of reproduction. In this seminar, I would like to introduce its biological significance.
