We held a welcome party for the international students who joined us in October. This event was organized to help all participating students build connections beyond the boundaries of their labs and academic years. This time, nearly 40 people attended.
- The party has started! Hosted by the advisor for international students, who always warmly supports them.
- Introduction of today‘s main guests, new international students!
- Next up, the icebreaker! This time, we played a game called "Straw Tower."
- In the first round, participants competed to see how tall a tower they can build using only 12 straws and a pair of scissors.
- First, they had a 5-minute strategy meeting.
- Everyone put their heads together to make a plan.
- From this point, they had to build the tower in 10 minutes!
- Although scissors can be used, it is a challenging mission to build a freestanding tower using only straws.
- Despite that, such a tall tower was built! Amazing!
- Next is the second round. This time, participants had to build a tower using scissors, tape, and 100 straws.
- As the game progresses, the tension eases, and smiles brighten up the atmosphere!
- In the second round, each team's personality shone through.
- This team built a solid foundation and created a tower with outstanding strength.
- This team created a double helix structure!
- This tower reached the ceiling!
- Free time started!
- We prepared Muslim-friendly and vegetarian menus to ensure that all participants could enjoy themselves.
- The enjoyable time flew by. We hope this event served as a catalyst for expanding everyone’s circle of friends!
