Mitochondria are essential metabolic organelles and signalling hubs at the interface of cell death and inflammation, which dynamically adapt to stress and altered physiological demands. Mitochondrial proteases located in the mitochondrial inner membrane are emerging as central regulators of these adaptive responses. We have recently demonstrated that these mitochondrial proteases act to modulate the cellular resistance against ferroptosis, an iron-dependent cell death. In this seminar, we will discuss novel aspects of mitochondrial proteases in ferroptotic cell death.

No registration is required.
This is a credit recognition seminar for the Master’s and Doctor’s Degree Programs of Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences.
