Introduction of infrared and terahertz synchrotron radiation

Synchrotron radiation (SR) emitted from electron accelerators is often associated with X-ray diffraction experiments such as protein crystallography, but, because of its white light (broad wavelength region) nature, SR can be used from visible light to infrared (IR) and terahertz (THz) radiation, namely IR/THz-SR. Due to its high brightness and intense properties, IR/THz-SR has been used for research that is not possible with commercially available FTIR. In this seminar, I will introduce our development of IR/THz SR beamlines and research works.
