Evolution from quantum to classical dynamics investigated by light scattering spectroscopy

The light scattering spectroscopy is widely used as a tool to probe the microscopic dynamics in materials. Recently it is found that the spectral characteristics which is generally expected from quantum-statistical mechanics is not satisfied in dissipative fluctuations such as cooperative-rotational dynamics in liquids. The experimental results will be discussed in relation to the evolution from quantum to classical dynamics starting from a time scale of picoseconds.
