Invitation to Frontier Biosciences GCOE Young Researchers Retreat

The Global COE program at the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences, Osaka University, we, aim to promote a highly intensive interdisciplinary research-educational system that includes the basic life sciences, medical sciences, physics, chemistry, informatics and engineering, to decipher the principles and fundamental mechanisms underlying the dynamics of complex biological functions. We seek to clarify how elementary biomolecules and biosystems interact dynamically to organize themselves into functional biomechanisms and how they achieve the finely tuned high-performance functions unique to living organisms. We also strive to foster young scientists to become international leaders in their fields.

The purpose of this GCOE Young Researchers Retreat is to provide our students and young research staff with an opportunity to freely mix with each other and discuss their present and future research goals in a relaxed atmosphere away from the laboratories. We believe that this is an effective way to promote interdisciplinary research. This year we have decided to invite a significant number of graduate students and young researchers from abroad to also participate. We hope that this will further stimulate scientific discussion and collaboration.

ROKKO SKY VILLA is the perfect place for this event as it is located near the top of Mt. Rokko, where offers a magnificent view of the Osaka-Kobe bay area and beautiful Setouchi Sea.
