I was a member of a laboratory located within the Center for Information and Neural Networks (CiNet). At the time, CiNet had just been established, but it was already a place that strongly reflected the FBS philosophy – an environment where students from various labs could casually discuss and consult on research. With shared experimental and animal facilities and seminars from diverse fields constantly taking place, I can see now that mechanisms designed to spark new and exciting research were embedded everywhere.
Currently, I work at a company that develops and commercializes medical devices based on technological seeds. In my job, I interact with many universities and companies, and I believe it is rare to find a graduate school with such low barriers between laboratories. I feel that the experience I gained there connects directly to my current work.
