Q.What made you interested in your current research theme?

A.I have long been interested in finding answers to the questions, “What are consciousness and emotion?” and “Why do we feel differently even though we are all made of molecules?” When I first visited the lab where I’m now studying, I learned that there are molecules that contribute to the individuality and diversity of nerve cells and I became fascinated by research on nerve cells.
