Neurons are one of the most polarized cells in our bodies. Neurons possess two distinct types of neurites, axons and dendrites, and this polarized morphology is fundamental for the function of neurons. In this seminar, I will discuss how neurons establish and maintain their polarity. I will focus on the roles of extracellular factors and the following signaling cascades during neuronal polarization.
