Faculty position (Assistant Professor in the Fujita Lab)

The Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences (FBS), Osaka University, invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (full-time and non-tenured) in the Fujita Lab starting in fiscal 2015.

The candidate should have research experience in the field of visual function of the mammalian visual cortex using single or multiple unit recording and preferably 2-photon calcium imaging. Successful candidate should cooperate with Prof. Fujita, and is expected to commit education in FBS and also to help education for graduate students in the FBS and for undergraduates in Biophysical Engineering Course of School of Engineering Science. The position will be open in April, 2015. This appointment is for 5 years and renewable for another 2 years after evaluation.

Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a list of publications (original papers and review articles), the record of funding in the past, a detailed statement of your research in the past correlating with published papers (within 1000 words), and a research plan and your teaching interests (within 1000 words). Salary shall be based on the 'Rules Pertaining to Salary for National University Corporation Osaka University Staff.
*Please note that Osaka University is considering the adoption of an annual salary system starting 1 April, 2015, so the current system may be subject to change. Employee would not be paid a retirement allowance but would be paid performance bonuses under the provisions of the proposed annual salary system.
