Faculty position (Assistant Professor) at Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences, Osaka University

The Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences (FBS), Osaka University, invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (full-time and non-tenured) in the Hiraoka Lab. The candidate should have research experience in the field of nuclear structure and function, preferably using fluorescence microscopy, and high achievements in this field. Successful candidate should cooperate with Prof. Hiraoka, and is expected to commit education in FBS and also to help managing the microscope facility of FBS. The position will be open early in 2014. This appointment is for 5 years and renewable at once after evaluation.

Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a list of publications (distinguishing original papers and review articles), the record of funding in the past, a detailed statement of your research in the past correlating with published papers (within 1000 words), and a research plan and your teaching interests (within 1000 words). Salary shall be based on the 'Rules Pertaining to Salary for National University Corporation Osaka University Staff.
*Please note that Osaka University is considering the adoption of an annual salary system starting 1 April, 2015, so the current system may be subject to change. Employee would not be paid a retirement allowance but would be paid performance bonuses under the provisions of the proposed annual salary system.
